TIPS AND TRICK ALL ABOUT DECORATION

Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Work At Home Decorator?

When someone describes you do they mention your flair for decorating? Are you constantly coming up with new ways to show off your living space? Do you love colors and fabrics? Can you get people excited about bringing rooms together to make them work? If you answered yes to these questions you may be the perfect candidate for a work at home decorator.

If you are a stay at home Mum, you know the feeling of wanting to contribute to the family. You want to be a part of something that is happening. You may have had a busy career and took time off to raise a family. The confines of the house are just too much. You need to spread your wings and be creative once again. The problem is you need to be at home as much as possible for your children. There is a way to have a career and stay at home at the same time.

By taking your style and creativity and channeling it into a business, you can take care of the family and have a wonderful career. Being a work at home decorator is not for everyone. You first need to assess yourself. By being completely honest you can determine if this is the career for you. You will need to ask yourself some very important questions. For example:

1) Can you work well by yourself, or do you need guidance?
2) Are you good with people?
3) Can you manage your time efficiently so you can work and make a home for your family?
4) Are you familiar with hard work and rejection? When it comes to projects, can you compromise to make everyone happy and get the job done?
5) Do you have a keen sense of style and fashion?
6) Are you good with color coordination and making patterns and designs work for you?
7) Does your living space look up to date and trendy, or just plain and drab?
8) Do you have a good eye for decorating and design?

Once you know the answer to these questions, you can get a better idea of whether you can be a work at home decorator. Interior design is a challenging business. Just because you like a certain pattern or color does not mean someone else will. You must be able to work independently with little or no information about your clients. Many times you may only be told to redecorate an office with no ideas of whether it is a man or a woman. You do not know their likes or dislikes. You do not know any special needs they may have. This is where your people skills come into play.

By speaking to the people around the design area you may be able to get a feel for the type of person you are designing for. You can add personal touches which will make the space feel homier.

Colors and patterns do not always go well together. If you do not know how to mix and match, then it will do no good to pursue an interior design career. You must know what color swatch will work with what wallpaper. You will need to understand lighting and coloring. You need to know how to make a room get noticed as a work of art and not just some place to sit and watch television. This gift is what would make you perfect as a work at home decorator.
